When purchasing sample for a survey that will field in the United States, you can use the Zip Code qualification question to target participants by zip code.
Note: The Sample Marketplace only supports zip code targeting for surveys fielded in English within the United States.
Adding the Question
To start targeting zip codes, you must add the Zip Code qualification question to your sample bid. First, navigate to the Sample Criteria page and select “United States - English” from the locale drop-down.
Then, click “Add Target” and select the “Zip Code” question from the qualification list.
Specifying the Zip Codes
Next, upload a list of the codes you would like to use as either an Excel file or a comma-delimited text file.
Note: The file must be uploaded in .xlxs, .xls, or .csv format.
To upload the list, drag and drop your file into the box or click “Browse” to pull it directly from your device. Then click “Upload File”.
Once you have uploaded your file, all the included zips will appear as response options on the Sample Criteria page, where you can select / deselect which zip codes to target. You also have the option to add quotas for individual zip codes or configure them for an even distribution.
Note: The Sample Marketplace supports only one code file per bid. If you would like to upload a new code file, you must first remove the current file and re-add the Zip Code qualification question.
Creating the Code File
To create a usable code file using Excel, open a blank spreadsheet and label the first column “Zip”. Then enter each of the desired zipcodes in a separate row within that column.
